What are LED recessed spotlights porch?
LED recessed spotlights conservatory are recessed spotlights that are specially designed for conservatories. All conservatory LED recessed spotlights are sold in sets. Each set consists of 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 recessed porch spotlights, including a transformer and connector. The transformer ensures that the current (230 volts) is converted to the safe low voltage (3.6 volts). The connector is attached to the transformer. It ensures that you can plug the spotlights into the transformer.
Do you need more than 12 spots? Then please contact our LED specialists. They will advise you on how to best combine several sets.
Because the recessed spots are sold in set form, you only need one transformer. The advantage of this is that you can hide the transformer in the click profile or in a wall box at the beginning of the porch. This way there is only 3,6 volt (low voltage) through the beams of your porch instead of 230 volts (high voltage). This is a lot safer. Each recessed spotlight is also supplied with 5 meters of cable, so you can easily keep the transformer outside the beams. Make sure you can still easily reach the transformer and connector.
There are various types of porch recessed spotlight sets. You can choose from the following sets:
- BAS set
- AB set
- Somfy IO set
BAS set
With the BAS set, you can go either way. You can expand this set so you can control the spotlights with a switch, the LED rotary dimmer Atlas, push dimmer Novex, remote control Moon and/or our own app. To use the Novex and Moon, you need to purchase the wifi LED receiver. When you purchase the wifi LED receiver, you automatically get free access to our own app. You can then simply create an account for free and create and control different rooms!
You can also combine this set with a motion detector. This is ideal for a carport, for example.
The BAS sets are equipped with a series connector. This means that if one spotlight is broken, all spots will fail. But no worries! Because the sets have only one transformer, you can easily place the transformer at the beginning of your porch. You can do this by hiding the transformer and connector behind the click profile of your porch or by hiding the transformer and connector in a wall box. Make sure that you can always easily reach the transformer and connector. By removing the spots from the connector one by one, you can see which spot is defective. The lighting switches on again when you have removed the defective spot. Make sure that you fill the empty connections in the connector with jumpers! The connector must be completely filled.
The BAS set consists of:
- 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 recessed LED porch spotlights (3 watts)
- One series LED transformer with connector (including jumpers)

AB set
The remote control (AB) sets are complete and there is no need to order anything separately. You operate these sets with the supplied Hamulight remote control.
The AB sets are fitted with a parallel connector. This means that if a recessed spotlight breaks down, only that spot will fail and not all of them. This way you know exactly which spot or wiring is broken and you don't have to check it through the connector.
The AB set consists of:
- 6, 8, 10, or 12 porch LED recessed spotlight (3 Watt)
- A parallel LED transformer with a connector
- Hamulight remote control (including batteries, fasteners, and holder)
Somfy IO set
These sets are suitable for use with Somfy IO. So, do you already have Somfy IO-controlled devices (e.g. sun blinds and shutters) in your home? Then you can connect your current Somfy IO controlled devices with this Somfy IO porch recessed lighting set. The Somfy IO sets are supplied with a series connector. Make sure you order the Somfy IO receiver separately, otherwise the set will not work! The supplied connector is a series connector.
The Somfy IO set consists of:
- 6, 8, 10, or 12 recessed LED porch spotlights (3 Watts)
- A Serie LED Somfy IO transformer with connector (including jumpers)
Not included (must be ordered separately):
- Somfy IO receiver
- Somfy IO 5-channel remote control (including holder and battery)
Porch recessed lights LED; what are the most important specifications?
Before buying porch recessed lights, you should have a good look at certain specifications. You can find out what they are below.
Dimensions
The dimensions of an LED recessed spotlight for the porch are important when making a choice. If you're replacing your current spots in the porch, take into account the dimensions of the current holes in your beams. Look at the height, build-in size, and diameter of the spots.
Height
The height of a spotlight (also called recessed depth) is very important! Measure the space between the suspended ceiling and the existing ceiling. Add the thickness of the ceiling to this and you know the recessed depth. Do take into account a 2 mm margin between the spotlight and the existing ceiling.
Diameter
The diameter is particularly important if you want to replace your current spots with new porch LED recessed spots. This is because you already have holes in your ceiling. In this case, the diameter should be larger than the hole! The diameter is also important when making new holes in the beams. Especially with narrow beams, you need to pay extra attention. Look at the width of your beams.
Recessed size
The build-in size tells you how big the hole should be. Do you already have holes in your porch? Then choose LED recessed spotlights in your porch with the same dimensions. Don't have one? Then choose porch LED downlights with a larger build-in size and make the hole in your beam to measure.
IP value
The IP value tells you to what extent the spots are protected. The higher the two numbers behind the IP, the better the protection against water and dust. We recommend a minimum of IP-44 for both the recessed spots and the transformer. Should the spots become damp, they can withstand this and will not break down. From IP-65, LED spots are dust-proof and spray-proof. All the recessed LED spots in our range have a minimum protection of IP-44. Ideal for a sheltered place like a porch!

How many recessed spotlight do you need?

Our advice is to use 2 spots per inner beam for a porch up to 3 meters. In general, no spots are placed in the outer beams. This is ideal in terms of light distribution.
4m x 3m (3 inner beams) = 6 spots
5m x 3m (4 inner beams) = 8 spots
6m x 3m (5 inner beams) = 10 spots
7m x 3m (6 inner beams) = 12 spots
Do you have a porch of 4 meters or deeper? Then we advise using more spots per beam.
